About Dombestein Data
Dombestein Data is a small web development studio based in Bergen, Norway.
I build fast, clean websites and systems with a focus on readability, maintainability, and doing things properly from the start.
Most things are possible. The question is how maintainable you want the solution to be.
If you need something delivered in a rush, rest assured it will never be a sloppy result. If you want something that is built to last, that's where I thrive and do my best work.
The guy behind it all
I'm Isak - a Digital Culture student at the University of Bergen, developer by habit, and the person behind Dombestein Data.
I care a lot about structure, clarity, and systems that make sense - both in code and in collaboration. I enjoy starting from a blank slate and building things up deliberately, rather than stacking plugins and hoping for the best.
I tend to focus on the small details that make a site feel solid: performance, accessibility, predictable behavior, and setups that are understandable six months down the line, not just on launch day.

What I do
These days, my work usually falls somewhere between development, study, and the occasional creative detour.
My background sits somewhere between development, digital culture, teaching, music production, and student organization work. That mix shapes how I approach projects: I care about structure, but also about how systems feel to use and how understandable they are for the people maintaining them later.
Tech Stack
I work with modern tools, like Astro, React, PostgreSQL and Cloudflare - not because they're trendy, but because they let me build fast, predictable systems that are easy to maintain.
I don't permanently lock myself into a single stack. If you have a set of features that requires something new or you just want a specific framework, please let me know! I'm always down to learn something new!
The exact stack matters less than the outcome: clear structure, sensible defaults, and solutions that don't require constant babysitting.
- Astro, React, TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui
- Hono, PostgreSQL, Drizzle ORM
- Cloudflare Workers, UploadThing, Axiom
A few things that shape how I work
Not everything needs to be complicated to be thoughtful.
- I like systems that are easy to understand, not just impressive in a demo.
- I care about the small details: naming, spacing, accessibility, and whether future-me can still understand the code.
- I come from a mix of development, digital culture, music production, and student organization work - which means I tend to think about both structure and experience.
